Hugo Aveta (born in 1965, Cordoba, Argentina and lives and works in Cordoba) is one of the leading artists of the Argentina and Latin American art scene. Work by Hugo Aveta is in the permanent collections of Fonds National d’Art Contemporain (FNAC), France; Museo de la Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero (MUNTREF), Buenos Aires, Argentina; Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (MACRO), Italy; National Museum of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Emilio Caraffa Fine Arts Museum, Córdoba , Argentina; Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina  Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art (MAMBA), Argentina; Musée du Quai Branly – J. Chirac, Paris, France; Museum of Latin American Art (mollaa), California, USA, among others and  many private collections.

Hugo Aveta was one of artist featured in the 2017 exhibition at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, Photography in Argentina: Contradiction and Continuity and traveled to PROA Foundation in Buenos Aires in 2018. Just before that, his work has been featured in Soulèvements exhibition at Jeu de Paume museum in Paris and traveled to Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain; MUNTREF, Buenos Aires, Argentina; SESC, Sao Paulo, Brazil; Museo Universitario Arte Contemporaneo, Mexico. Meanwhile his work has been shown at Curitiba Biennial, key events of contemporary art in Brazil. Currently, his work is shown both at Centro Cultural Kirchner, Buenos Aires, Argentina (May to December 2018 with his Tracción a Sangre  video - presented at our gallery in 2016) and at Museo Genaro Perez, Còrdoba, Argentina (May to July 2018 with his sound installation Oceano).

Aveta’s first monograph, Espacios Sustraiblables, published by Larivière, was released in Fall 2015.
